Mode of employment: Full-time

Position Overview

The Sports Reporter covers a wide range of sporting events and topics, delivering timely, accurate, and engaging content for print and digital platforms. Responsibilities include attending games, interviewing athletes and coaches, analyzing performance, and staying up to date with sports news.

Key Responsibilities:

– Writes and delivers sports stories in a clear and concise manner;
– Ensure that all sports content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality;
– Working closely with the Sports team and other sections within the newsroom to develop comprehensive sports coverage;
– Provide sports content for The Fiji Times digital platform which includes videos and sports stories; and
– Any other duties assigned by the Sports Editor.

Requirements:

– Possess a good command of English, both written and verbal;
– Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously;
– Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
– Be well groomed, friendly, presentable & energetic;
– Ability to work well as a team player with minimum supervision;
