SUPERVISOR – HARVESTING/YARD

Fiji Hardwood Corporation Limited (FHCL) is a Government Statutory Enterprise, regulated under the Public Enterprises Act of 2019. It manages around 75,000 hectares of plantation estate of which 41,000 hectares of matured mahogany plants. There are a total of 14 Forest Stations in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu out of which, seven (7) Forest Stations are currently operating, i.e. Naboutini, Galoa, Nukurua, Sawakasa Nausori Highland, Nadarivatu and Seaqaqa/ Korotari . We are dedicated to quality, efficiency and ensure sustainability in all our operation. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Supervisor at all Stations to manage our log yard operation, both Forest and landing respectively:

Position Overview:

As a Supervisor for Log harvesting and yard operation, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities within the Forest/Log Yard, ensuring efficiency, safety and adherence to quality standards. You will lead a team of personnel, manage logistics and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

· Supervise daily operation of the logs including loading, unloading, sorting and storage of mahogany logs
· Ensure compliance with Safety regulations and environmental standards
· Train, motivate and evaluate team members to enhance productivity and performance
· Monitor Logs specs and report any discrepancies or issues.
· Implement best work practices for logs measuring and handling in accordance to operating procedures
· Coordinate with Contractors, Finance, Survey and other departments to maintain an efficient flow of information and logs from forest to log yards.
· Prepare reports on operations activities and provide recommendation for improvements

Qualification & Other attributes

· Must attain, Diploma/Bachelor in Forestry, Environmental Science or management from a reputable institution
· Previous experience in forestry, logging operation or similar role in the forestry industry
· Strong leadership skills and team management skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
· Ability to operate heavy machinery or willingness to learn
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details
· Flexible to work long hours including weekends
