Manager Finance & Administration
Position overview:

Fiji Times Pte Limited is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to join as Manager Finance & Administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and strategizing for financial objectives while working on day-to-day basis to ensure the organization’s financial stability. He/she will be reporting to the General Manager, and this position will be based at our Head Office, 177 Victoria Parade, Suva.

Key responsibilities:

• Overseeing, coordinating and administering the financial records, systems and processes of the organisation including accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and benefits, banking, insurance and related financial administration to include company secretarial work.
• Implementing robust internal controls, administrative systems, policies and procedures to streamline Company’s day-to-day operational activities ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in alignment with approved strategic initiatives and budgetary allocations.
• Managing critical financial functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, payroll, cashier and Electronic Data processing.
• Maintaining parallel records of income and expenditure in the database to ensure accurate financial tracking.
• Prepare and present quarterly and yearly financial budgets and cash flow forecasts and work with the General Manager and the Management to actively monitor and understand budget variances.
• Ensuring the timely review of monthly/yearly financial statements from the accountant and preparing reports for the review of the Management.
• Establish and maintain positive relationship with stakeholders to foster a collaborative and communicative environment.
• Ensure timely payment of invoices, salaries and wages, employer contribution and taxes lodgments;
• Prepare documents and schedule annual audit and liaising with the auditors; and
• Manage administration team which includes Transport and Maintenance.

 

 

Requirements:

• Degree in a field related to finance, accounting, business administration and management;
• Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• A minimum of 5 year’s experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of and experience in applying accounting procedures and protocols in budget administration and financial forecasting, analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency with computerized financial systems such as accounting programs, databases, payment processing, excel spreadsheets and payroll services including Sage 300 (ACCPAC) and Datec Pay.
• Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to take on wide range of tasks.
• Ability to handle confidential matter; and
• Excellent communication, people and managerial skills.
Remuneration will commensurate with experience and qualifications.
