FCCC is inviting applications for the position of General Manager Regulations (GMR), a senior leadership role responsible for providing independent, strategic advice and leading key regulatory functions, including Economic Regulation, Competition, Enforcement, Technical Regulation, and Pricing, Policy and Planning. The role drives regulatory performance, strengthens capability, and ensures effective enforcement to support fair competition and consumer protection, while working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Team to deliver outcomes aligned with national priorities and the FCCC Act 2010.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic advice and support to FCCC while managing regulatory functions.
- Drive and shape relevant indicators to ensure regulatory effectiveness is achieved and sustained.
- Anticipate and manage industry challenges and emerging issues by providing mitigation strategies within an evolving regulatory landscape.
- Work closely with the Executive Team to initiate and drive FCCC’s organisational agenda within national and international regulatory contexts.
- Provide leadership in fostering innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all regulatory functions aligned with FCCC’s Strategic Plan.
- Create and support an enabling environment through planning, capability building programmes, and forging strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the regulatory space.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in a business-related discipline, Competition, Law or Management, with at least 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in similar or regulated industries.
- A strong leader who communicates a clear vision and motivates others, with demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex issues while maintaining a clear view of the broader context and risk.
- Results-oriented, with a strong commitment to good governance, sound financial management, effective risk management, and ethical business conduct.
- Experience or knowledge of competition policy or law is an added advantage.
