Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Agricultural Extension Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting our organic products and providing technical assistance and training to farmers across Fiji.

 

As an Agricultural Extension Officer, you will be responsible for:

Conducting on-farm visits to assess soil health, crop performance, and pest management practices.
Delivering educational workshops and training sessions on organic farming techniques, including the use of our products.
Providing personalized recommendations and guidance to farmers on soil fertility management, crop nutrition, and pest control strategies.
Collaborating with agricultural stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and research institutions, to promote organic agriculture and knowledge sharing.
Collecting data and feedback from farmers to inform product development and marketing strategies.
Contributing to the development of educational materials, extension publications, and digital resources for farmers.

 

 

Key Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in agricultural extension, consulting, or related field.
Strong knowledge of organic farming principles, soil science, and crop management practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with farmers from diverse backgrounds.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and agricultural data collection tools.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within Fiji.
