DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate boiler plant and maintain steam pressure for plant use.
• Do maintenance and repair all boilers and associated equipment,
• Enter accurate meter readings and daily log-book entry.
• Conduct boiler water test and treatment including water softeners.
• Along with additional task that will be assigned by Supervisor.
• Be willing to work rotating shifts including weekends-when required
• Responsible for ensuring safe operation of the ammonia and refrigeration systems throughout the plant.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in all plant utilities maintenance, such as waste water, boiler, air compressors, installation of projects, fire  system as well as food processing equipment such as retort and pre-cooker.
• Responsible for pouch sealing equipment manual and automatic sealers and retorts both pouch retorts and can retorts.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• BS, BA or MBA preferred
• Must have excellent communication skills (verbal & written) English.
• Knowledge of Samoan will be advantageous.
• Must be a self-starter and well-motivated with some background knowledge in welding, plumbing and mechanical skills.
• Must conform to all Star Kist Samoa and OSHA Safety Standards.
• Must be willing to work weekends and be able to perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Must have good leadership skills.
• 1-7 years of overall professional experience in Tuna Cannery Industry
• 5 years in a position of similar complexity, scope, size and international impact.
• Broad knowledge and experience in Utility Operation / Maintenance gained at successive levels of responsibility in multiple areas of Maintenance Management
• Knowledge of corporate policies and compliance
• Demonstrated prior success in achieving results using team driven philosophies
• Demonstrated proficiency in supporting corporate interest from remote site locations and ability to communicate and exercise very positive people skills.
