We are looking for Brewing & Distilling Operators that will be reporting directly into the Team Leader Brewing and Distilling based at our RCF Distillery, Lautoka. The Brewing & Distilling Operator will be responsible for carrying out and optimising yeast propagation and brewing, operate and optimise Pot Still and Column Still process ensuring top quality product with high efficiencies and the least amount of waste as per work instructions or SOPs.

Key aspects of this role include;

o Full compliance with all regulatory requirements and RCF procedures relating to site risk, health, safety and environmental constraints.
o Flexibility to adapt to different shift working practices and patterns.
o Work safely within the operational teams, ensuring that you are delivering collective performance.
o Monitor and control the operations within their area of responsibility, identifying any breakdowns or anomalies in the process, and taking corrective action where necessary.
o Logging of operational data to allow in depth process performance analysis and improvement.
o Ensure site hygiene is maintained to a high standard as well as supporting with various site daily tasks.
o Accountable for delivery of clear communications with own team and others to ensure the effective continuity of site operations both during and across shifts.

Career Experience and Qualification

Ideally, you will have:
– At least a Diploma level qualification (Chemistry, Biology and Instrumentation disciplines)
– Accredited Brewing industry qualification would be an advantage but not necessary.
– Basic computer skills (MS, Typing, E-mail communications & Spreadsheet)
– English Language – Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
– 1-year work experience in a similar field
– Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
– Always be available and attend any meeting, training & development conducted by the business as part of team cohesiveness and capacity building
– Must demonstrate willingness to upgrade/develop skills and apply them to any task and/or area assigned to by superiors
– Must have the flexibility to perform any other task assigned by Superiors as and when required.
– Ability to work in all assigned areas of the brewhouse; perform relief duties when required.
– Must be able to transition to any Work Area, Shift or Department as and when required.
– Ability to trouble shoot.
