What is the job?
Every plate has the potential to create a memory that lasts a lifetime for our guests. To deliver all this and more, we’re looking for a Butcher with a passion for preparing all sorts of meat according to the required specifications. A beautiful meal all starts with you!

 

 

A little taste of your day-to-day:

As Butcher, you’ll have the ability to contribute authentic and enriching culinary experiences to our guests, and that begins from the Butcher Room. Every day is different, but you’ll mostly;

Be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and preparing various types of meats for cooking and consumption.
This includes tasks such as cutting, trimming, deboning, and portioning meat according to specific recipes or kitchen orders.
Inventory Management: maintains inventory levels of meat products, ensuring an adequate supply is available to meet the needs of the kitchen. This involves monitoring stock levels, tracking expiration dates, and placing orders with Purchasing Department as necessary.
Work closely with Head Chef and other members of the culinary team to ensure that meat is prepared and presented according to the required specifications.
At all times you must be representative of the qualities of delivering IHG service standards.
Prepare production for daily usage.
Adhere to HACCP policies and procedures within the resort & IHG brand standards.
Communicate with team members of hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers.
Establish and maintain effective employee working relationships.
Communicate politely and display courtesy to external and internal customers.
You will also be required to control food usage to minimize waste, maintain a clean, safe, hygienic and tidy work environment and communicate well with other colleagues within the department.

 

 

What we need from you:

It is not just about completing tasks and doing the work! We are looking for personality, originality, creativity, focus and a passion to deliver great results directly and via the whole team!
Vast experience in similar role preferred in full service restaurants/local or international hotels/resorts in high volume kitchen(s).
Oral and written Fluency in English is a must, additional languages is an added advantage.
Communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
Commitment to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Able to multi-task and ability to handle stressful situations.
