Key Responsibilities
- Construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden, metal, and other structural fixtures, fittings, and facilities across the plant.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and fit for purpose.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Repair or replace damaged structures, partitions, furniture, fixtures, and fittings in a timely manner.
- Assist with construction, renovation, and modification projects to support plant operations and business needs.
- Maintain carpentry tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.
- Support plant shutdowns, projects, and emergency repair works as required.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and operations personnel to ensure timely completion of work and minimal disruption to plant and activities.
Requirements
- Trade Certificate in Carpentry, Joinery, Construction, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of carpentry experience in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or maintenance environment.
- Proven experience in the construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of buildings, structures, furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
- Sound knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and carpentry best practices.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, including safe work procedures and hazard identification.
- Ability to perform accurate measurements, cutting, fitting, assembly, and installation work.
- Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments, including heights and confined spaces when required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
