Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced chemical and physical analysis of cement, clinker, supplementary cementitious materials, aggregates, and related products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Perform calibration, verification, intermediate checks, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment including balances, weights, thermometers, stopwatches, compression testing machines, ovens, furnaces, pipettes, and other testing instruments.
  • Prepare calibration records, uncertainty calculations, control charts, and equipment performance monitoring reports in accordance with laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory quality systems, technical records, proficiency testing results, and accreditation documentation.
  • Support and participate in proficiency testing programs, internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe laboratory environment by adhering to all safety, health, and environmental procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry, Applied Science, Materials Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a cement, construction materials, or industrial laboratory.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements and quality management systems is an added advantage.
  • Experience in laboratory equipment calibration and measurement traceability.
  • Understanding of ASTM, AS/NZS, and cement testing standards but not necessary.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and laboratory data management systems.
