Fiji Ports Corporation Pte Ltd (FPCL), manages the primary port infrastructures located in Suva and Lautoka, as well as the ancillary port in Levuka. Additionally, FPCL is entrusted with the administration and enforcement of International Port Facility Security mandates for the ports of Vuda, Malau, Rotuma, and Wairiki.
Chief Infrastructure Officer (CIO)
As the Chief Infrastructure Officer (CIO) at FPCL, your role encompasses executive leadership in the strategic planning, advancement, and oversight of all infrastructure integral to port operations. This pivotal role presents an exceptional opportunity to spearhead strategic endeavours that enhance infrastructure efficiency, promote sustainability, and foster innovation. The CIO will oversee the orchestration, progression, and strategic stewardship of all infrastructure assets, guaranteeing they are in harmony with the port’s overarching ambitions and directives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.Develop and execute plans for the expansion, maintenance, and modernisation of port infrastructure to meet current and future operational needs.
2.Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers and technicians in the planning, design and implementation.
3.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to port infrastructure and safety protocols.
4.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, government agencies and industry partners to identify opportunities for infrastructure development and investment.
5.Evaluate emerging technologies and best practices to enhance the efficiency, resilience and environmental sustainability of port operations.
6.Manage budgets, resources and timeliness for infrastructure projects, while optimising cost effectiveness and operational performance.
7.Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork and accountability with the infrastructure sector, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing among team members.

 

The applicant must possess the following:

•A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Master’s in Business or a related field is preferred
•At least 10 years of experience, ideally in ports or shipping, focusing on planning and managing infrastructure.
•Strong leadership abilities with a history of leading diverse teams and implementing change.
•Sound understanding of port operations, logistics, and regulations, and awareness of industry trends and issues.
•Excellent communication skills for interacting with and influencing people at all levels.
•Skilled in project management, committed to achieving top-quality work on schedule and
within budget.
•Certifications or association memberships in the field are preferred.
