The Construction Manager oversees and coordinates all aspects of Fiji Airport’s construction projects, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality completion. Responsibilities include managing resources, schedules, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The role involves managing multiple construction phases and assisting project managers with other phases to ensure effective project execution. Direct Reports include Site Engineers, Drafting Technicians, Consultants, and Contractors, ensuring effective collaboration and adherence to project objectives. This position is based in Nadi and reports to the Senior Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage construction projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Develop and maintain construction programmes, schedules, and resource plans aligned with operational requirements.
- Manage contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams including Site Engineers and technical personnel.
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, assess variations, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Ensure all construction works comply with contractual terms, engineering standards, the National Building Code of Fiji, and applicable international standards.
- Lead quality assurance processes including inspections, site visits, and compliance reporting.
- Identify and manage project risks through the development and maintenance of risk registers and mitigation strategies.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements with a strong commitment to zero incidents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project and contractual documentation in line with internal governance and records management processes.
- Maintain effective communication with senior management, airport stakeholders, regulators, and external partners to ensure transparent reporting and stakeholder alignment.
- Uphold and promote Fiji Airports’ values, professionalism, and organisational image at all times.
Requirements
- A Degree in Building & Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience, including supervision and management of large construction projects.
- Or a diploma or related trade qualification in building and construction with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, cost management, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Building Code of Fiji and relevant international standards (including Australian Standards).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction/project documentation systems.
