We are now seeking a consultant to support Fiji Hardwood Corporation Ltd in effectively utilizing the new fleet and optimizing our harvesting operation;

Key Responsibilities
- To support operational through providing expert advice on the use of new harvesting machinery for road construction, tree felling and transporting logs from the bush
- Assist in planning and preparation for harvesting operations to ensure optimal efficiency and sustainability
- Guide the management on Forest engineering design and implementation of forest Engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and environment safeguard.
- Monitor and report any issues arising from the harvesting operation in accordance with the plantation grown Mahogany Code of Harvesting 2010 and report on operational effectiveness and compliance
- Support capacity building through training and developing FHCL personnel in machinery operating., maintenance and some best practices in harvesting and Forestry operation
Requirements
- A degree in Forest Engineering Forestry or related field is desirable
- Must have a 7 – 10 years of experience in tropical forests operation with focus on machinery use and harvesting techniques
- Expertise in Forest Engineering including maintenance system & operational efficiency
- Proven experience in road construction, tree felling/cross cutting, extraction/pulling and Log scaling to documentation.
