Formscaff (Fiji) Pte Ltd is seeking individuals to fill in the following position:
•Diesel Hydraulic & Automotive Mechanics

Job Summary:

The Diesel Hydraulic & Automotive Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and various automotive components on heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. This role requires expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety of the equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

– Perform preventive maintenance, scheduled servicing, and emergency repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, differentials, and other automotive components.
– Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and automotive systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
– Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, and other components.
– Rebuild and overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, and differentials as needed.
– Perform welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment as required.
– Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used, and work performed.
– Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
– Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced mechanics.
– Collaborate with supervisors and team members to optimize maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

– High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in diesel/automotive mechanics preferred.
– Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a diesel/automotive mechanic, preferably in a heavy equipment or industrial setting.
– Expertise in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and automotive components.
– Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and equipment common to the trade.
– Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
– Excellent attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
– Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate heavy equipment.
– Certification in diesel/automotive mechanics, such as ASE or manufacturer-specific, is a plus.
