The Opportunity
The Forum Secretariat is looking for a Executive Coordination Officer to join the team in Suva, Fiji. The Officer is tasked with coordinating the daily affairs of the Office of the Secretary General and liaising with the staff of the Secretariat as required.
To facilitate the above, the incumbent will be responsible for:
Efficient clearing of documents requiring the Secretary General’s attention, approval or action;
Coordinating the preparation of speeches, briefs and other background information for the Secretary General;
Providing Secretariat Support to Executive and Senior Management Team; and
Oversight of the administrative, travel and logistical support for the Secretary General.
The Secretariat seeks a strategic and proficient individual with a graduate degree in relevant disciplines and proven experience in providing executive or advisory support to a CEO, Minister or Leader. Applicants with knowledge of the workings of Pacific Islands Forum, the Secretariat and the place of Forum Island countries in the international trade and political arena, and also knowledge and experience of the workings of regional and International Organisations (CROP, UN, WTO, EU, ACP, APEC etc.)
The Benefits
The appointment carries a competitive remuneration and benefits package including medical and life insurance. The starting salary will be in the range of SDR 31,020 to SDR 34,898 per annum. At the 1 June 2022 exchange rate this salary range was equivalent to FJD90,968 to FJD102,340. For non-Fijian nationals, this salary may be tax-free. To be eligible for this position, the applicant must be a national of a Forum member country*. Applicants must be willing to travel periodically via economy class.
