EYE NURSE – Pacific Eye Institute

JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
We have vacancy for 3 nurses. These positions will be responsible for the nursing care of eye patients at Pacific Eye Institute and in the community on specialized tasks as specified.

Key Responsibilities

· Work at PEI/CWMH Eye OT

· Participate in PEI Outreaches (Regional and Local)

· Assist in Mobile Eye Clinic when required

· Assist in Diabetes Eye Clinic when required

· To triage eye patients, including a brief history-taking and Visual Acuity testing

· provide comprehensive, safe and efficient care to patients scheduled for surgery and minor procedures, primarily within the Operating Theatre (OT) located at PEI/CWMH Eye Center.

· Pre-operative and post-operative care of eye patients

Minimum Requirement

· Degree/Diploma in nursing and currently registered with the Nurses, Midwives and Nurse Practitioners Board in Fiji

· Experience in working in Out-patient Department (OPD), Outreaches and Operating Theatre (OT) clinic

. Experience in eye care nursing is desirable but not compulsory

· Post Graduate Diploma in Eye Care will be an added advantage (not necessary)
