JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

This position reports to the Project Accountant – Finance Systems, Transformations and Projects. You will play a key role in supporting and optimizing accounts payable processes, contributing to the success of finance-related projects, and ensuring the efficient management of financial transactions. This role will require a detail-oriented and proactive individual to be part of the finance team as a Finance Project Specialist, with a focus on Accounts Payable.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze and evaluate current accounts payable processes for opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Implement improvements and best practices to streamline the end-to-end accounts payable workflow.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate process changes and ensure seamless implementation.
Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of finance-related projects with a focus on accounts payable.
Work closely with project managers to ensure project deliverables align with accounts payable objectives.
Provide expertise on accounts payable processes to contribute to project success.
Act as a liaison between the finance department and vendors to address inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
Contribute to the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
Analyze data to provide insights into accounts payable metrics and contribute to decision-making processes.
Support internal and external audit processes related to accounts payable.
Ensure accounts payable activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and accounting standards.
Undertakes training opportunities to enhance financial knowledge and skills.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Some experience or internship in accounting and finance is preferred.
Basic understanding of financial principles, regulations, and internal controls.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and vendors.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptability and willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
