Financial Controller

 

 

Musket Cove Island Resort and Marina consists of 58 private bures, villas & hotel rooms; private homes, multiple food & beverage outlets, and a marina.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is pivotal in managing and optimizing the financial operations of Musket Cove Resort and associated entities.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Develop and execute financial strategies to maximize revenue, profitability, and support strategic initiatives.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, monitor performance against budgets, and provide timely forecasts with variance analysis.
• Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to executive management.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage cash flow and working capital effectively, while overseeing banking relationships and functions.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ senior finance leadership experience in a 4–5 star hotel or resort environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and statutory compliance in Fiji.
• Proficiency in financial and property management systems, including QuickBooks, iVend, POS systems, and Room Master.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience in island or remote operations will be an advantage.
