JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Castaway Island, Fiji managed by Outrigger Hospitality Group is an award-winning, iconic four-star resort in the Mamanuca group of islands. Castaway Island Fiji is 30km from Nadi in the Mamanuca group and easily accessible by helicopter, seaplane and fast catamaran. We are seeking to employ a dynamic, energetic & self-motivated individual to fill the position of Food & Beverage Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Manages the service of food and beverage within the restaurant and bar catering area.
Ensures that strategies and practices are in place to facilitate the efficient and effective staffing of the department so that financial and service quality targets are achieved.
Ensures the cleaning and maintenance of outlets, work areas, tableware, utensils and other materials and equipment used by restaurant and bar areas.
Regular liaison with Engineering team ensuring maintenance requests are completed quickly focusing on guest needs as a priority.
Coordinates with Front Office and Kitchen department to ensure that preparations for VIP guests have been made.
Continuously strives to implement the Resort’s Vision and demonstrate active use of Outrigger Values.
Ensures that the Department establishes and maintains an ongoing quality improvement programme through use of Unifocus scores.
Attends to major operational problems and needs promptly including customer complaints, inquiries and requests.
Achieves effective communication by briefing and debriefing staff, holding regular departmental meetings and actively encouraging communication with other departments within the resort.
Management and guidance of outlet staff under control, namely Food & Beverage Supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Has relevant qualification from a recognized tertiary institution
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar position in a resort establishment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent customer-oriented approach
Is a self-starter, has a drive, initiative and is highly motivated
Able to live and work in an island resort environment.
