JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Background:
The Grants and Ethics Officer (GEO) will support the administration of the Research Grants by receiving internal grant applications, assessing applications and disseminating them to URC for approvals, ensuring compliance with funding guidelines, recording internal and external grants, following on the progress reports, reconciling acquittals, issuing completion reports, coordinating ACIAR scholarship/grant, and carry out all grant-related activities managed by the Research Office.
The GEO will be responsible for receiving and assessing all ethics applications, ensuring timely approvals and issuing ethics approval letters to researchers and HDR students, recording low- and high-risk ethics applications and approvals on the RO database.

Person Specification:
Essential:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
2 years of relevant work experience
Desirable:
Experience in grant applications and management system.
Experience in processing human and animal ethics applications.
Experience in event organisation.
Experience in writing proficient reports.
Experience in generating reports in a timely manner.
Understanding of research ethics and grants, research process, activities and research terminologies will be an added advantage.
Salary: FJD 30,720.00 plus 7% superannuation
