JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

This position is open to qualified Fiji nationals or Pacific Islanders who are eligible to work from Fiji.

In an increasingly complex and changing world, we believe that a peaceful and engaged Asia is of critical global importance. We work with innovative leaders and communities to build effective institutions and advance path-breaking reforms. Together with our partners, we are committed to Asia’s continued development as a peaceful, just, and thriving region of the world. Informed by six decades of experience and deep local expertise, The Asia Foundation’s programs in 18 countries address critical issues affecting Asia in the 21st century: governance and law, economic development, women’s empowerment, environment, and regional cooperation.

One of our major programs in the Pacific Islands is the Pacific Regional Initiative and Support for More Effective Counter Trafficking in Persons (Pacific RISE-CTIP), a five-year project implemented by The Asia Foundation with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Pacific RISE-CTIP aims to address trafficking in persons (TIP) through a multi-sectoral approach engaging an inclusive cross-section of stakeholders from government, civil society, and the private sector to strengthen TIP prevention, protection, and prosecution.

Pacific RISE-CTIP is seeking applications from qualified Fiji nationals or Pacific Islanders who are eligible to work from Fiji, for the position of finance and grants manager. The finance and grants manager will ensure efficient management of the financial, grants, and operational aspects of the Pacific RISE-CTIP project, as well as overall compliance with Asia Foundation and USAID regulations and requirements.  S/he will provide overall technical and administrative leadership in the areas of financial management and grants management, procurement and record management for activities and operations of the project and across four countries in the Pacific (Fiji, PNG, RMI, and Tonga) and will supervise the day-to-day work of administration and finance staff. The position will report directly to the deputy chief of party and will work closely with Pacific RISE-CTIP team members, and the Finance and Operations staff of The Asia Foundation on compliance and reporting.
