Bank South Pacific is seeking an exceptional leader to join its Executive Leadership Team as Head of Operational Risk, reporting directly to the Country Head – Fiji and Group Head of Operational Risk based in Papua New Guinea.

This is a key executive position responsible for leading the Bank’s Operational Risk function, driving a strong risk culture, strengthening governance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing operational resilience across the organisation. The role is based in Suva.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Bank’s Operational Risk framework.
  • Develop and implement operational risk strategies, policies, and controls.
  • Monitor operational risk exposures and emerging risks.
  • Oversee business continuity, operational resilience, and incident management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal Group Risk standards.
  • Provide strategic advice to Executive Management and the Board.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Law, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in banking, risk, audit, or compliance, including senior leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
