Human Resource Officer

Sugar Research Institute of Fiji (SRIF) invites applications from suitably qualified, innovative and self-motivated individuals who meet our requirements to take up the above role. The successful applicant will report to the Institute’s head office located in Drasa, Lautoka.
Responsibilities and Duties
Work closely with CEO and the management team to address all employment-related issues;
Act as Management and CEOs advisor in interpreting and explaining of labour laws;
Effectively and responsibly carry out the entire recruitment process;
Carry out employee orientation, induction and awareness including exit interviews;
Actively participate in review of existing policy and standard operating procedures;
Address employee grievances, employee requests and employee disciplinary;
Manage and ensure employee health & safety is not compromised;
Ensure workplace injury, compliance registrations and renewals are done in a timely manner to avoid penalty;
Have sound knowledge and experience in carrying out effective Performance
Management assessment along with the supervisor, department heads and CEO.
Prepare budget and reports such as but not limited to monthly reports to CEO, board reports and board papers and updates;
Carry out training need analysis of the existing employees and establish succession plan in consultation with the department heads and management;
Continuously liaise with Ministries, other stakeholders and suppliers and union;
Undertake all HR Administration within standards including preparing letters, offer letters and contracts;
Provide administrative support to payroll ensuring, all pay-related records are updated within the agreed payroll deadlines;
Act as a contact and liaising person to internal and external auditors;
Carry out any other task/duties assigned by the CEO and Management.
Qualificatication, Experience and Skills
Mandatory:
A recognized degree in Human Resources Management & Employment Relations/PG Diploma in HR/ Management Psychology or related discipline;
Completed OHS module certificates 1&2
Class 2 driver license (manual)
At least 3-5 years of working experience in various aspects of HR, with excellent people management and communication skills, ability to work in minimum to no supervision, critical thinker and ability to solve complex HR problems within strict deadlines.
Desirable:
Completed OHS module certificates 3& 4
Member of Fiji Human Resources Institute of Fiji Remuneration
