Altitude Refrigeration Solutions Pte. Ltd is looking for a HVAC Design Engineer/ Estimator to join our expanding design & estimating team. We are seeking experienced candidates with a strong sense of ownership & commitment to their work and will assist with the tendering on construction projects.

An HVAC estimator analyzes the scope of proposed dehumidification, ventilation, and air conditioning projects to create a detailed estimate of the project’s cost. As an HVAC estimator, you consider the cost of labor and materials and describe what is needed for our client’s consideration.

Responsibilities:

• Understand scope of HVAC work to be able to bid; review mechanical drawings for incoming quote requests;
• Prepare quotes, tenders, bids & design/build budget estimates in response to inbound queries and requests in a timely manner; Ability to negotiate tenders effectively;

• System design of light commercial and large commercial HVAC systems
• Value engineering estimates in a timely manner;
• Undertake load calculations, equipment selections, preparing specifications for D&C projects
• Accurately estimate plan/spec and design/build HVAC systems using computer estimating systems and other related software tools;

• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients
• Work on multiple estimates/construction contracts at the same time;
• Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products;
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, services engineers, architects, property developers and contractors;
• Perform site surveys and attend pre-bid walkthroughs
• Maintain estimating logs and unit costs for all projects
• Interact with the sales and project management teams to insure all projects are performed under budget and according to plans and specifications
• Tender handovers and comprehensive brief to Altitude project teams
• Become proficient with all Altitude product offerings
• Communicate with the engineering department on new and current projects;
• Prepare job take offs and schedules.

Skills and Experience | Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5 + years of design & estimating experience in the HVAC industry with a proven track record is required
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other construction documents
• Knowledge of different types of HVAC systems and their components
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC / Mechanical Services contracting
• Knowledge of electrical systems for HVAC plant and equipment
• Proficient in bidding software platforms;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including MS Project
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong organizational skills, flexibility and ability to prioritize work assignments;
• Ability to develop budgets and time lines;
• Multi-tasker and organized;
• Great customer service and a team attitude;
