The Infrastructure Officer will provide administrative and logistical support to the Infrastructure Program

Suva, Fiji with some travel to divisions in Fiji, as required.
The Program

The Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) was established in 2017 to support and implement Australia’s aid programs such as health, education, emergency preparedness and response and governance in Fiji. The Facility also supports the Australia Awards in Fiji and Tuvalu. The Facility integrates cross-cutting themes, including gender equality, disability and social inclusion, climate change and disaster risk reduction, across sectoral programs. In particular, the Facility seeks to strengthen program outcomes by better addressing the needs of targeted beneficiaries including those who are often marginalised.

The Facility is coordinating the design and construction of infrastructure for education (Schools Recovery Program), health and potentially other sectors in Fiji, on behalf of the Australian Government as part of the Australian Aid program. Being a program that seeks to focus on infrastructure that have real social impacts, this is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of experts specialising in supporting the development of Fiji.

The Position

The successful candidate will have a degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering or Construction and will provide support to the Program Manager with the day-to-day activities. The Infrastructure Officer will have 1-3 years’ experience working within Project Management, Architecture or Construction fields; managing time, cost and quality within infrastructure projects. The position will see the candidate working closely with the Program Manager, assisting with contract administration, design management and construction site reporting.

The candidate will be provided the support to learn and grow as a professional in the building industry and assistance with developing in areas of interest within public infrastructure projects.

The annual salary will be between FJD 43,776.63 and FJD 48,640.69, dependent upon the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.

The Person

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their excellent attention to detail and desire to learn and grow on the job. The ideal person will bring along with them their technical understanding of infrastructure and also be able to think pro-actively during project implementation. Knowledge in design and construction process is highly regarded as the candidate will be working closely with the Program Manager on day to day tasks. They will be a self starter with the ability to work independently, but also be willing to work within team settings.
