JOINER – Aspen Medical

JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Aspen Medical is seeking enthusiastic candidates for the role of a Joiner. The position is responsible for designing, creating and installing structures, furniture and fittings in the hospital.

Key Outcomes

All required joinery works are to be completed within agreed timelines
Ensure all joinery activities completed are of a high quality, are compliant and adhere standards and meet all legislative and H&S and regulatory standards
Conduct daily ward rounds, defects rectified as soon as possible, and report submitted within agreed timeliness

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

Work as part of a team and use all tools and materials in a safe manner, and as instructed
Marking cuts in accordance with accurate measurements and plan
To carry out all types of joinery works in hospitals as directed by the supervisor
Manage materials as effectively as possible with regards to minimizing waste, choice of specification and logistics
Fitting, repairing or maintaining wooden structures such as doors, window frames, staircases, partition walls, roof timbers, floor and roof joints
Fitting, repairing cupboards, skirting boards, floorboards, shelving and ironmongery

Experience and Qualifications Required
Successful completion of Form 6 level and trade qualification or equivalent
5 years ‘proven work experience in joinery works
Must have excellent knowledge of joinery and carpentry work
Knowledge and experience in the maintenance of joinery and carpentry tools and equipment
Ability to assess and provide scope of work for task to be undertaken
Ability to make accurate estimates of materials for work to be undertaken
Ability and skills to carry out the assigned duties
Good communication skills
Demonstrate ability to effectively work as a team with minimal supervision

Working knowledge in other trade maintenance areas
