MECHANICAL / DRILL FITTER – Valentis

Valentis is looking for a Mechanic/Drill fitter who is currently based in Fiji with previous experience in the industry preferred or worked in a similar environment to be responsible for conducting routine services on all drill rigs whilst adhering ta safety and quality standards. You will be required to carry out mechanical repairs and be confident in fault diagnosis tasks. You will be reporting to the Maintenance Manager directly and indirectly to the Site Manager. This is a site based role and minimum working hours per shift on either Dayshift or Nightshift is 12 hours.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

To service and maintain a modern fleet of drill rigs, water supply pumps (Bean Pumps) and tracked support equipment.

Responsible for all equipment on site and to ensure rig and auxiliary equipment is fully operational at all times when required and in the event of a breakdown, repairs are
diagnosed and completed safely and successfully in a timely and efficient manner which meets both Valentis and our clients expectations.
Maintain clean and safe work site and equipment.
Troubleshoot problems and be solution orientated.
Plan and complete preventative maintenance to maximized equipment production;
Ensure personal and crew compliance with Company WHS regulations and site-specific rules.

Requirements

Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic/ Drill Fitter trade qualification or equivalent.
Extensive experience in diagnasing / servicing / repairing of surface drill rigs, hydraulics, and auxiliary water pumps
Possess general welding and fabrication skills
Attention to detail, organized, self-starter, strategic thinker, good problem-solving skills and good housekeeping skills
Flexible, able to multi-task, excellent prioritization skills
Motivated to be part of a proactive team focused on the continual development and improvement of the organization as a whole
Goad written and verbal communication skills
Ability to develop & maintain recordkeeping systems & procedures
5+ years or equivalent essential
Worked in a multi-cultural environment
Read, write and speak English
Relevant Diploma preferable
