BAT is seeking to recruit a self-driven and agile individual for the role of Merchandiser within our Marketing team in Suva. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the ideal candidate would need to demonstrate sound customer relation, communications skills and analytical ability and should be able to deliver key processes and objectives within the team. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and where teamwork, communication and collaboration are key.

Location: Suva

As the Merchandiser, you will play a fundamental role in the delivery of key trade performance indicators within the Sales & Marketing Team.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Implement monthly merchandising activities to support the delivery of regional and national targets.
  • Achieve daily / weekly / monthly route plans
  • Ensure completion of activities and assessments, on time and in full.
  • When required, communicate all relevant industry, product, and legal information to retailers in accordance with company standards and policies in a timely and effective manner
  • Review product related checks and balances and report to Sales Manager any issues identified
  • Understand all active agreements in place and its impact to retail outlets
  • Report any noncompliance to your Sales Manager immediately when identified
  • Maintain accurate and relevant outlet information, inclusive of all brands plan and reporting perimeters and matrices
  • Ensure all market information and identified challenges and opportunities are reported to your Sales Manager or relevant personnel in a timely manner
  • When required carry out sales related tasks

Qualifications and Essential Attributes:

The successful candidate should possess:

  • A tertiary Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business or Commerce.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in FMCG brands and sales and marketing would be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office applications and Computer literacy
  • Valid Class 2 Fiji Drivers licence (Manual)
  • Good communicator who is adept at both explaining issues in a straightforward way to retailers and internal stakeholders, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Possess good commercial acumen and analytical ability
  • Has a strong team mindset
  • High degree of organisational skill, passion for attention to detail
  • Strong presentation skills and is proficient in English with strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong reporting skills at regional and national level.
