OPERATING THEATRE ATTENDANT – Aspen Medical

Description
Aspen Medical is seeking aspiring candidates for the position of Operating Theatre Attendant. The successful candidate will be responsible for all associated procedures and tasks to clean, prepare and sterilize, unsterile instruments, linen and consumables to support the supply process for sterile supply consumables and reusable instruments as required by all of the Clinical departments and any other auxiliary departments as necessary within the hospital.

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

Compliance to all of the CSSD guidelines and protocols
Ensure assigned tasks are completed within the required timeframes
Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial
Process, wash and care for instruments according to the correct procedures
Pack instrument sets and loose articles in the prescribed manner for sterilization
Ensure that all required instruments for procedures are sterile and ready for utilization
Actively participate as a member of a team to achieve goals
Keeps up to date with all Hospital OH&S policies and procedures
Develop collaborative relationships to accomplish Team & work goals
Participate in stock takes, order of stock, as directed by the CSSD Manager/Supervisor
Wearing of PPE(Personal Protective Equipment) in compliance with all Hospital or Public Health Directive

Experience and Qualifications Required
Life skills and other experiences will be assessed on case-by-case basis will be taken consideration as part of the application process, as well as the ability on undergo training
Excellent time management skills
Demonstrate effective communication skills
Demonstrate the ability to effectively work within a team, with less supervision and be pro active
Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure in a resource constrained environment
Ability to acquire a good working knowledge of sterilization and infection control standards in accordance with Australia/ New Zealand 4187 as part of OJT & OJE
Excellent time management skills
Must comply with all patient confidentiality information protocols
Must display a service and customer-oriented approach, with a commitment to assist the nurses at the workplace.
Desired

Knowledge of the Health Services industry
Availability to work long hours/ weekends when required, including “ CSSD ON Call”
Must be prepared, have a personal desire and willingness to undertake any ongoing professional development and training for enhancement of personal and clinical skills sets, when necessary and as identified by the CSSD Manager/Supervisor.
