OPERATIONS SUPPORT OFFICER – Williams & Gosling

We currently have a great opportunity for the position of Operations Officer based at our Transport Depot, Walu Bay. Reporting to the Transport Manager the position is responsible for coordinating daily transport movement which includes the receiving of bookings, allocation of trucks for duties, monitor of truck movement and update concerned parties.

Here’s what you’ll do

Receive bookings via email or phone call and allocate trucks accordingly
Update the bookings on a daily basis for the next day job
Ensure that all trucks/drivers are clear of schedule for the day
Manage afternoon shift as and when required
Attend to any customer complaints and/or queries intemal / external
Monitor what goes in and out of the yard, with proper gate in/ gate out written dockets
Monitor truck movements in afternoon shifts
Maximize runs of trucks to avoid wastage & ensure productivity
Update all operational team once trucks have delivered containers/ cargo
Monitor storage items and update clients regularly
Monitor the delivery of FCL empty containers
Assess any risks or hazards that may exist and sought to resolve them in conjunction with the OHS committee

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

2+ years’ experience in coordinating of transport fleet or similar role
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Pro-active team player, ability to work in fast-paced team
Highly skilled with technology and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft suite
Completion of Secondary School and enrolled in tertiary studies desirable
High level of integrity and work ethics; strong attention to detail
