OPERATOR – Paradise Beverages

We are looking for an Operator – Maturation and Blending that will be reporting directly to Supervisor – Maturation & Blending and will be based at our RCF Distillery, Lautoka. The Operator – Maturation and Blending, will be responsible for efficiently carrying out all maturation & blending activities for all spirits products in order to produce high quality products to meet both local and international quality standards in a safe environment to the highest work standards & minimum wastage. The role will also be responsible for aging our spirits by safely storing casks (barrels) of new make spirit and preparing casks of mature rums and whiskey for blending.

Key aspects of this role include;

o Carry out basic quality checks through product testing & recommend any corrective actions for out of specs products
o Drawing of samples for analysis from Barrels, Tanks/Vats, Drums, etc
o Filling, Decanting & Stacking/Palletizing of Rum & Whiskey Barrels
o Operate RO Plant to produce good Quality water for Blending and keep records
o Operate Rum Chiller & ensure products are chill filtered at recommended temperature & within specified timeframe
o Mix flavourings and other ingredients according to formula
o Industrial Meths/NS Sales – ability to read & understand Spirts Picking Lists
o Recording accurate transfer records for spirits movement – Transfer record Sheets, Logbooks
o Must have the flexibility to perform any other task assigned by Superiors as and when required.
o Ability to work in all assigned areas of the distillery; perform relief duties when required.
o Must demonstrate willingness to upgrade/develop skills and apply them to any task and/or area assigned to by superiors
o Be safety-minded, efficient, quality-focused, creative, have a great work ethic and attendance record, a positive attitude, adaptable/flexible and dedicated to being a great team member.

Career Experience and Qualification

Ideally, you will have:
o Degree in Science or Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution
o Basic computer skills (MS, E-mail communications & Spreadsheet, MSD Skills) would be an advantage but not necessary
o 2 years’ work experience in a similar field
o Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
o Attention to Detail – Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
o Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, early mornings and/or evenings
o Flexibility in your availability from week to week required
