About the role

As a key member of the HR Leadership Team, the HR Business Partner, is responsible for managing the operational human resource needs across Fiji through developing a close partnership with the business and global HR team. The role is required to develop, plan and deliver the local and global HR agenda, governance and initiatives for the attraction, engagement and retention of people to support the business in delivering on its strategy.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Development & delivery a seamless safety, security and wellness program in line with the Onshore Safety standards.
  • Oversee and manage the local staff welfare agenda
  • Monthly reporting on key incidents, trends and achievement of safety action plans as required
  • Work with the business leaders to develop an evolving organizational structure and manage change responsibly as required.
  • Management of all Recruitment, Talent Management and Succession Planning activities.
  • Management of the full annual performance management process
  • Advice and support managers and staff in developing a high performing environment through diagnosing and management of any team or individual performance/behavior improvement requirements aligned to local legislation and company / HR policies.
  • Drive and influence the Swire Shipping diversity and inclusion agenda
  • Manage the biannual employee engagement survey and action planning process as required
  • Drive and influence the utilization of the company Reward & Recognition programs and support the business to celebrate success appropriately.
  • Manage the annual salary review and bonus process with the relevant leaders
  • Maintain governance and staff compliance of any corporate and/or HR policies, procedures, guidelines, documents and information as required
  • Protect the business and staff from any preventable legal disputes or matters

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Human Resource.
  • Minimum 5 years proven success in Human Resource management role.
  • Proven experience in people management and benefit & compensation.
  • Highly developed communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience in people management and the ability to strategise and plan effectively and deliver outcomes in a competitive business environment.
  • A high-level proficiency in IT office applications, specifically MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools.
