PLANT MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
The role will provide timely and accurate maintenance services on plant and equipment including the repairs and servicing of relevant machinery. The Plant Maintenance Mechanic will also provide comprehensive support to the other Site Supervisors and the Asset Management & Maintenance Office. The role reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor with dotted line to Site Construction Supervisor/OIC and will be responsible for successfully driving the following critical outcomes for the organisation:
- Maintenance and repairs carried out to ensure full operation capacity of equipment machinery and plant
- Effective and safe operation of construction heavy machinery and mechanical equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance program for plant, equipment, machinery and related facilities including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, etc.
- Machine, equipment and plant downtime minimised to ensure operation continuity
- Provide support services to production staff by monitoring and attending to machines and providing technical maintenance advice
- Accurate records on operations and activities in relation to plant maintenance maintained
- Efficient record of mechanical equipment readings and operations documents – Plant function readings and equipment history, records and schedules
- Learning and development including awareness on Safety measures ensured
- All safety program elements, directed towards meeting the plants Total Incident Rate (TIR) goal established each year by the company participated in, and supported.
- The person we seek will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role, with relevant qualification(s).
- The applicant must possess the following:
- Understanding and experience in Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
- Understanding of full range of equipment used by the organisation including an extensive knowledge of diesel engines, gasoline engines and construction equipment.
- Understanding of maintenance operations.
