Program Officer – The Asia Foundation

Job Expired

Program Officer, Pacific RISE-CTIP, Pacific Islands

  •  The Asia Foundation
  •  Suva, Fiji

This position is open to qualified Fiji nationals, or Pacific Islanders who are eligible to work from Fiji.

In an increasingly complex and changing world, we believe that a peaceful and engaged Asia is of critical global importance. We work with innovative leaders and communities to build effective institutions and advance path-breaking reforms. Together with our partners, we are committed to Asia’s continued development as a peaceful, just, and thriving region of the world. Informed by six decades of experience and deep local expertise, The Asia Foundation’s programs in 18 countries address critical issues affecting Asia in the 21st century: governance and law, economic development, women’s empowerment, environment, and regional cooperation.

One of our major programs in the Pacific Islands is the Pacific Regional Initiative and Support for More Effective Counter Trafficking in Persons (Pacific RISE-CTIP), a five-year project implemented by The Asia Foundation with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Pacific RISE-CTIP aims to address trafficking in persons (TIP) through a multi-sectoral approach engaging an inclusive cross-section of stakeholders from government, civil society, and the private sector to strengthen TIP prevention, protection, and prosecution.

Pacific RISE-CTIP seeks applications from qualified Fiji nationals or Pacific Islanders who are eligible to work from Fiji for the program officer position.  The program officer will work closely with the chief of party in planning, implementing, and monitoring activities, developing innovative and entrepreneurial approaches in delivering and expanding the Foundation’s program in counter-trafficking in persons and identifying emerging issues and new opportunities for possible programming. The successful recruit is expected to closely coordinate and engage with Pacific RISE-CTIP’s partner organizations, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with program objectives, timely delivery of outputs, and compliance with USAID and Asia Foundation rules on expenditures and overall program management. They are also expected to work with the other program officers to deliver the team target results and to coordinate with the Foundation’s Finance and Administration unit on all logistical, administrative, and financial aspects of program and grants management related to the project.
