The Opportunity

The Forum Secretariat is looking for a Programme Officer – Climate Resilience Engagement & Coordination to join the team in Suva, Fiji. This role is established to provide coordination across the different workstreams related to Climate Change and Resilience development within the Resilience team at PIFS.

To facilitate the above, the incumbent will be responsible for:

Coordination of activities and workstreams;
Stakeholder engagement;
Supporting the mapping and management of regional resilience activities;
Communication and Advocacy;
Coordinating PIFS engagement with youth on climate change and resilience;
Other related duties as required
The Secretariat seeks a strategic and proficient individual with a degree (Bachelor’s level) from a recognised institution around economics, social science, climate change, disaster risk management or related field with at least 5 years’ experience in Climate Change and/or Disaster Risk Management engagement and coordination or related fields of work with similar responsibilities. Applicants with demonstrated understanding and experience of challenges and developments in climate change and resilience in the Pacific Island Countries.

The Benefits

The appointment carries a competitive remuneration and benefits package including medical and life insurance. The starting salary will be in the range of SDR 27,494 to SDR 30,931 per annum. At the 1 June 2022 exchange rate this salary range was equivalent to FJD80,628 to FJD90,707. For non-Fijian nationals, this salary may be tax-free. To be eligible for this position, the applicant must be a national of a Forum member country*. Applicants must be willing to travel periodically via economy class.
