PROJECT ACCOUNTANT-FINANCE SYSTEMS, TRANSFORMATIONS AND PROJECTS – Fiji Airways

JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

This position reports to the Finance Manager – Finance Systems, Transformations and Projects, and is responsible for finance process transformations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving process efficiency, accuracy, and innovation within the finance function. The role will also be responsible for finance process improvement projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for financial projects such as system implementations and process improvements.
Track and update project plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful project completion.
Work with cross-functional teams to identify project requirements and deliverables.
Lead and participate in initiatives to transform and optimize financial processes.
Implementation of new projects and systems that are in the finance roadmap to achieve the transformation of the various finance function in building and enhancing the processes, controls, and information database and leverage technology to reduce costs and achieve efficiency.
Implement changes, enhancements, and innovations to optimize financial operations.
Utilize financial data to generate meaningful insights and reports for management decision-making.
Analyze financial trends, variances, and performance metrics to support strategic planning
Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment on accounting processes and resolve payment-related issues.
Provide guidance and support to other teams regarding policies, procedures, and system-related changes.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, providing updates, insights, and recommendations related to projects and changes.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Must have a degree in accounting, finance, or information systems.
Must be fully qualified accountant (CPA) with at least three years management experience with either a recognised firm of accountants or a reputable local or international business.
Project management qualification would be a distinct advantage.
3 -5 years of airline experience or experience in a finance role.
Prior experience in the management of projects.
Team player with strong management skills.
Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, be challenging and resilient, whilst maintaining independence and objectivity.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a positive can-do attitude.
Strong understanding of financial systems, accounting principles, and business processes.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on own initiative with energy, drive and commitment.
Excellent analytical and presentation skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Drives customer service and continuous improvement.
