This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the transactional accounting functions of the business which includes revenue accounting and processing payments, including payroll, as well as internal controls. A key expectation of the role is to drive innovation and use technology to create efficiencies, reduce costs and improve the customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership, strategic direction and vision to teams that deliver Revenue Accounting, Payments, Payroll, Banking and appropriately supported balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
• Resolution of internal/external customer queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Drives transformational change, continuous improvement initiatives and service excellence in revenue accounting, payments management, payroll, and transactional banking.
• Provides strategic input to system reviews, updates and upgrades.
• Focus on team management, providing effective processes for the setting of performance targets, monitoring performance and providing feedback to individuals
• Provides career development support, coaching and training; the aim being to maintain a highly motivated and committed workforce.
• Develops a clear team progression / succession plan.
• Manages ad hoc projects and reports required by CFO, Executive Management and Heads of Departments.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• CPA or CA qualified (or similar).
• Must have 5 years’ senior finance managerial experience.
• Strong managerial and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy to present and deliver a high standard of results.
• Possess excellent organizational, problem solving skills, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
