SQL/APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST – Pepper Advantage Hub

JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The Role

Pepper Advantage Hub (Fiji) is seeking for a skilled SQL/Application Support Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in being responsible for the support and monitoring of SQL jobs across a number of On-Prem SQL Servers. Working closely with the SQL DBA’s and Application Support teams to provide active oversight of the SQL Servers and other critical Job based systems to maximise Application Up-time and ensure SLA’s are adhered to.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Provide support for critical production system.
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
support release deployment activities.
Managing and closing out related internal and external support tickets.
Support and assist the DBA & Development teams with :
Monitoring of system health to ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security.
Maintenance and housekeeping tasks across database servers and processes over multiple environments (Prod, Dev, Test, UAT etc).
Development and maintenance of the Daily/Monthly ETL processes and environment.
Creation of SSIS/DTS packages.
Performance tuning of DB, SP’s/Tables.
Work on large data migration projects (on-boarding/offboarding).
Work with the Development team on SQL code reviews, best practices.
Production of high and low level design documents and documenting internal production procedures.
Continually contributing to the automation and improvement of processes within the team.
Working effectively in virtual, interdisciplinary, teams, contributing to a delivery driven culture.
Provide support for the maintenance and configuration of the mortgage systems in accordance with user and functional requirements. Including but not limited to maintaining base rates, setting up new products and user access maintenance.
Author well-presented client and business-facing documentation.
Candidate needs to be flexible in terms of working hours (Ideally from 8 pm to 4.30 am FJT)

 

 

Skills and experience required:

2+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role.
2+ years of experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
Strong core in SQL database technology and surrounding complimentary systems (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) with a very high level of knowledge in TSQL.
Analyses problems, thinks creatively, and makes effective decisions in the appropriate timescale, abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organisation skills.
Has a thorough understanding of the analysis process and can collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders to achieve consensus.
Contributes positively through clear communication, personal impact and behavioural flexibility.
