The Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) is based in the Nation’s capital of Suva and administers the sport of Rugby Union overally Nation’s 14 provinces. The major responsibility of FRU is to continuously develop and improve processes by enabling pathways from “grass root” level to elite, professional level and national level. FRU endeavors to enhance players’ and officials’ competencies locally and internationally.
An exciting opportunity exists within the Fiji Rugby Union, and we arc seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, agile and self- motivated for the following two positions:
- TEAM MANAGER – FUI AIRWAYS FIJIAN SEVENS TEAM
- TEAM MANAGER – FUI AIRWAYS FUIANA SEVENS TEAM
About the Role:
The Team Manager is responsible for all logistical matters both in the team preparation phase, in tournament or while on tour and at the conclusion of the hour. The Team Manager will work closely with the Head Coach & GMHP and other Technical Support Team within the High Performance Unit and Fiji Rugby in ensuring all logistical matters are covered in a timely and efficient manner.
The Team Manager will drive all the planning, budgeting and operations plans and ensure timely plans arc submitted to (lie Board via CEO and Management
The position will be offered either on a part-time or full-time basis position and the appointment will be for a minimum of 3 years’ subject to outstanding performance in the first year of engagement.
Principle Accountabilities:
Tin: successful candidate for the above position will be responsible for:
World Rugby and Tournament Requirement*
- Compliance with any World Rugby Requirement
- Ensure timely submission of all necessary documentation
- Ensure compliance to all HSBC and other international requirements during tournament
Strategic Planning and Budgeting
- Assist Coach prepare annual preparation and participation for the season
- Assist Coach and Team Management prepare annual budgets for the Team and seek Management and Board endorsement
- Ensure strict compliance to approved plans
- Prepare monthly reports for Board and Management
- Monitor implementation of annual plans and budget for each program
- Compliance to sponsorship agreements and all commercial arrangement
- Compliance to FRU policy and procedures
Assembly
- All logistics for travel and compliance with all visa requirements in a timely manner
- Leadership in the area of Off-field Team discipline throughout all assemblies’ tours and camps.
- A sound spiritual foundation is important for this role.
- Problem solving everyday challenges.
- A strict compliance to deadlines and timings.
- Be able Io work long hours
On Tour
- Liaise with Host Union & Tournament Organisers.
Match Day Operations
- Preparation of Team Day
- A knowledge of the Rugby Laws.
- Rugby Disciplinary procedures and World Rugby foul play sanctions and process is a phis.
Qualification, Knowledge and Skill Requirement:
- Degree or Diploma in Management, People Relations. Accounting, Logistics or any other relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent qualifications desirable.
- OSEP Team Managers Course Accreditation or Attend / complete the OSEP Team Managers Course.
- At least 3 years work experience in a similar role that will ensure your capabilities in delivering all aspects of the position.
- High level of Communication and Computer Skills
