JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Fiji Gas is looking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of Terminal Manager to be based at our Terminal in Wailada, Lami. The Terminal Manager is accountable for leadership, planning and executing all activities on the terminal to ensure the highest safety standards as well as to achieve budget and sales targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The day-to-day management and leadership of the overall terminal operations through the preparation of work plans and schedules to ensure effective and productive use of resources;
Leadership and management of terminal employees including ensuring sufficient staff resources are in place to enable the continued safe and reliable operations of the terminal in the event of absences and that existing staff have the requisite skills to perform critical functions;
Building and maintaining a harmonious, safe and productive working environment for all employees;
Promoting and encouraging a proactive safety culture within the terminal and ensuring that all company and statutory safety requirements are met throughout the terminal and in facilities/areas under the terminal’s control;
Ensuring all the licenses, permits and approvals are in place to ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements;
Management of the site Risk Register and Emergency Response Plans;
Overall management of processes and schedules for cylinder filling, inspection, testing and distribution;
Ensure that the people, systems and processes for asset integrity are in place, in use and fit for purpose over the whole lifecycle of the asset;
Management of Safety Critical Controls for the terminal including checklists, preventative maintenance and regular review of critical processes;
Achievement of performance measures relating to cylinder and bulk delivery margins, customer service, terminal stock control and HSE targets;
Provide technical advice based on established technical solutions. Coordinate problem-solving for a range of technical issues;
Reporting on the quality, efficiency and effectiveness/utilisation of the employee outputs (including discussions with these employees).
REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing or gas/energy industry setting. Relevant Engineering/Electrical tertiary qualifications would be an advantage;
Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines;
Well developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills; and
Have a positive and confident attitude to be able to interact with all levels of employees and customers.
