•Truck Electricians

Job Summary:
The Truck Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components in commercial trucks, trailers, and other heavy-duty vehicles. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical theory, the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, and the skills to perform a wide range of electrical tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

– Inspect, test, and diagnose electrical systems and components, including batteries, alternators, wiring harnesses, and control modules.
– Repair or replace faulty electrical components, such as lights, wiring, sensors, and control units.
– Perform scheduled maintenance on electrical systems, including battery testing, alternator checks, and wiring inspections.
– Install and configure new electrical components, such as lighting, communication systems, and auxiliary power sources.
– Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to guide the diagnostic and repair process.
– Utilize specialized electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic scan tools, to identify and resolve issues.
– Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
– Maintain detailed records of all electrical work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and customer information.
– Collaborate with other technicians, supervisors, and parts specialists to coordinate repair activities and order necessary parts.
– Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with evolving truck electrical systems and technologies.

Qualifications:

– High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in automotive/heavy-duty electrical systems preferred.
– Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a truck or heavy-duty vehicle electrician.
– Strong working knowledge of electrical theory, including principles of electricity, circuits, and wiring.
– Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters, circuit testers, and diagnostic tools.
– Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
– Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
– Familiarity with the repair and maintenance of various electrical components, including lights, batteries, alternators, and control modules.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
– Good communication skills to interact with customers, supervisors, and other technicians.
– Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles.
– Certifications in automotive/heavy-duty electrical systems or related fields are highly desirable.
