Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding, fabrication, and repair of plant equipment, structures, piping, and metal components in accordance with approved specifications and safety standards.
- Carry out cutting, grinding, fitting, and welding activities using appropriate tools, equipment, and welding techniques.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and maintain plant reliability.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair requirements to restore operational efficiency.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.
- Identify and report defects, equipment issues, and potential safety hazards to supervisors.
- Assist with plant shutdowns, project works, and installation of new equipment as required.
Requirements
- Trade Certificate in Welding, Fabrication, Metalwork, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in welding and fabrication within a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy engineering environment.
- Sound knowledge of welding safety practices, hot work permits, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Experience in cutting, grinding, fitting, and fabricating metal components and structures.
- Ability to inspect weld quality and identify defects to ensure compliance with required standards.
- Familiarity with maintenance and repair work on plant equipment, structures, and piping systems.
- Physically fit and capable of working in demanding industrial environments, including heights and confined spaces when required.
