CJ Patel (Pacific) Pte Limited (CJPP) is the commercial arm of the CJ Patel Group and one of Fiji’s largest distributors of locally manufactured and renowned international brands within Fiji and most of the Pacific. The Company has an extensive distribution network with major supermarkets, food service industries and down-the-line (DTL) retailers with its main warehouse in Wailekutu, Lami and supported by branch operations in Lautoka and Labasa and significant exports to other regional markets such as New Zealand, East Timor, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tonga, Samoa and Papua New Guinea

The position will be based at the Suva Head Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily functions of the accounts payable team, including supervising staff, managing workflows, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
  • Prepare and manage daily cash flow and schedule creditor payments ensuring financial deadlines are met.
  • Carry out creditor reconciliation and monitor supplier accounts ensuring that any discrepancies are identified and resolved.
  • Perform general accounting tasks, including managing the creditors ledger, journal entries, and month-end closing activities.
  • Manage daily processing of online payments and ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly and annual reports for management.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual audit.

 

 Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or related filed
  • Minimum two years’ supervisory experience in accounts payable
  • Proven experience supervising staff and managing processes
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Well versed with online payment and statutory (FRCS) portals and proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills and ability to accurately prepare reports.
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
