Morris Hedstrom is the oldest Supermarket Chain, serving Fiji since 1868. We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individual for the following position to be based in our Maxvalu Branches in Suva. Baker

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that production target is met.
• Prepare and bake various types of bread, buns and pastries and ensure consistency and high quality.
• Undertake cleaning of the work area.
• Ensure food hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
• Check the quality of raw materials and weigh ingredients.
• Mix dough by hand or machine, then place in tins or trays.
• Load tins or trays into ovens, keeping an eye on the oven temperatures and the appearance of the bread (or the cake or pastry).
• Unload ovens when the bread is baked, take bread out of trays and put inside a cool display.
• Glaze or decorate cakes and pastries with icing or cream.
• Ensure all assigned production is completed within time frame.

Requirements:

• Experienced or Certificate in Baking.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a baker.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and individuals
• Effective organizing skills and the ability to work within a busy team.
• Willing to work under minimum supervision.
• A personal commitment and loyalty to the company.
• Able to accommodate the operational schedule of the store including shifts between 7am and 9pm, seven days a week.
• Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
