OVERVIEW

Situated on Efate Island’s Pango Beach, Nasama Resort is a short drive from Port Vila, Vanuatu’s capital. It is a 4-1/2 star beachfront resort offering 43 spacious apartments, surrounded by crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and swaying palm trees, providing a serene escape from everyday life.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accountant to manage the financial health of our four companies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and examine financial records: Ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Manage all accounting transactions: Handle accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare budget forecasts: Develop and monitor budgets to ensure financial health.
• Conduct audits: Perform internal audits to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
• Prepare financial statements: Create monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Tax preparation and filing: Ensure timely and accurate filing of Vanuatu Government VAT & VNPF.
• Financial analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments: Work closely with other teams to support overall business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant), or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

1. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Accountant
2. Fluent in spoken and written English
3. Valid international passport
4. Clean Police Record (required by Vanuatu Immigration for overseas candidates)
5. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., XERO, MYOB)
6. Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
8. Attention to detail and accuracy
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
10. Able to manage and motivate a team

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS

Salary: According to skills and experience.

Contract period: One year renewable by mutual agreement

For overseas candidates: Accommodation and return airfare once a year
