Qualifications:
- High school certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Management / Supply Chain / Accounting / Finance / Economics.
Experience Requirement:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehouse, logistics, or retail operations.
- Basic understanding of supply chain operations and warehouse management principles.
- Familiarity with retail environments and inventory control systems is an advantage.
Desirable:
- Some experience in a supervisory role will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with forklift operations will be an added advantage.
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the efficient and effective operations of the warehouse, ensuring inventory is well-organized, staff are properly trained, and all safety and regulatory guidelines are met. This role involves supervising a team, managing workflows, and ensuring timely and accurate distribution of products. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong leadership skills, and have a solid understanding of warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, including Warehouse Receivers, Pickers, Packers, and Forklift operators to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Foster a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and maintaining open communication with staff.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and proficiency with inventory software.
- Coordinate inventory control teams for cycle counts, physical counts, and report discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain warehouse organization for optimal accessibility and workflow efficiency.
- Organize and store inventory in an orderly manner for easy accessibility and stock rotation using FIFO principles.
- Label products with product SKU, Descriptions, Batch Numbers, and expiry dates for ease of stock identification.
- Track inventory turnover rates to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Flag and report any damaged or defective goods, coordinating with the Manager for resolution and proper disposal and documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate picking and packing of products.
- Collaborate with the warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and inventory replenishment. Flag any near-to-OOS level situations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure all team members follow proper protocols for handling equipment and inventory.
- Ensure that all necessary documents are generated and filed at each step of the warehouse process, including receiving and transfers, for accurate record-keeping and future reference.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse activity, including inventory status, team performance, and operational challenges.
- Identify and implement improvements within the warehouse and recommend solutions to enhance productivity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on inventory data and a positive, team-focused attitude.
