CREDIT OFFICER – Oceania Gas

Credit Officer – Based in Lami

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Credit Officer to join our team. The Credit Officer will be responsible for assessing creditworthiness of potential clients, managing credit applications and approvals, and ensuring compliance with company credit policies. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to make informed decisions based on credit data and financial health indicators. This role will report to the Credit Manager and work closely with Finance and Sales teams.

Key job responsibilities are as follows

•         Daily receipting, accurate allocation and reconciliation of customer payments
•         Creating new customer accounts, maintaining and updating customer records.
•         Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to facilitate the effective credit management process
•         Attending to customer queries and resolve within the given time frame.
•         Contact customers and follow up payments for overdue debtors.
•         Processing deposit refunds of customers and organize payments on-time through EFT
•         Resolve customer queries by carrying out reconciliations between customer cylinder holding and internal inventory
•         Maintain a strong, effective working relationship with customers.
•         Adhere to organizations standard operating procedures
•         Prepare reports on credit status and provide recommendations to management.
•         Any other work assigned by management depending on the business need.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent professional qualification
• Proven experience of 2-3 years as a Credit Officer, Credit Analyst, or similar role in financial services.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex financial data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience working in ERP system
• Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel).
• Knowledge of credit laws and regulations.
