We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individual for the following position to be based in our main office in Suva. Security Officers

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and participate in all aspects of compliance, training, safe work practices and so forth in relation to Workplace Health & Safety.
  • Watch for safety and fire hazards and other security related situations
  • Support management in providing a safe environment for fellow employees and customers by identifying and rectifying hazards and/ or equipment in need of maintenance
  • Provide  courteous, accurate and efficient customer service
  • Adheres to the company’s customer service guidelines including meet and greet procedure
  • Assist customers and staff with problems or concerns; contacts store management as appropriate.
  • Ensure customers are attended to with a smile
  • Maintain professional attitude
  • Share workload with colleagues and peers
  • Support and where necessary train and assist new members of the team.
  • Share relevant knowledge, ideas and skills with everyone in the team for the benefit of the team.
  • Contribute information and findings and experiences to help others understand or solve problems.
  • Make suggestions for improvement where more productivity and efficiency can be achieved.
  • Follow, comprehend and educate others on company policies and procedures.
  • Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.  
  • Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.  
  • Maintains organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
  • Attend to any other duties or responsibilities assigned by management.
  • Attend trainings as and when nominated by superiors
     

Requirements:

  • At least form 6 qualified1
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role would be an advantage however extensive training will be provided

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and individuals 
  • Effective organizing skills and the ability to work within a busy environment
  • A personal commitment and loyalty to the company
    ■Able to accommodate the operational schedule of the store including shifts between 7am and 9pm, seven days a week.
  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Skills of operating Point of Sale System efficiently and accurately
  • Skill of performing basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to follow instruction and give attention to detail.
