Job Details:

  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
  • Job Summary: Preparing meat for sale by cutting, trimming, and packaging.
  • Qualifications: High school certificate or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1 year as a butcher.
  • Basic understanding of meat processing and butchery techniques.
  • Knowledge of meat cutting and vacuum packaging machines is an advantage.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation.
  • Ability to work in cold environments and handle raw meat.

Desirable:

  • Certification in food safety and handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut, trim, and prepare meat according to customer requirements.
  • Clean and sanitize work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Monitor stock levels and maintain freshness.
  • Weigh, package, and label meat products.
  • Dispose of waste following health and safety guidelines.
  • Report wastage for stock reconciliation.
  • Assist in training new staff.

Key Skills:

  • Familiarity with different meat types, cuts, and preparation methods.
  • Proficiency in using knives and other butchery tools safely.
