QUALITY AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE OFFICER – CJ Patel

Roles Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Quality and Safety Compliance Officer for CJ Patel (Pacific) Pte Limited based at Head Office, Lami. CJ Patel (Pacific) Limited is part of the CJ Patel Group of Companies and is Fiji’s largest distributor of locally manufactured and imported Fast Moving Consumer Goods. The successful incumbent will be based with the Warehouse Team ensuring adherence to ISO standards and safety regulations, focusing on quality control, risk management, and employee safety. This role involves implementing and maintaining quality management systems, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS, ensuring it aligns with ISO standards.

• Monitor and improve the QMS to ensure its effectiveness and efficiency.

• Ensure all warehouse operations comply with ISO 9001 and other relevant ISO standards.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal policies related to warehouse operations.

• Implement and maintain safety protocols to protect employees and prevent accidents.

• Identify, assess, and manage risks related to quality and safety in the warehouse.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

• Provide training and awareness to warehouse staff on QMS, safety regulations, and best practices.

• Promote a culture of quality and safety within the warehouse.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to QMS, safety procedures, and audit findings.

• Work closely with warehouse management and other departments to ensure compliance and quality.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Science, Environmental Health, or Quality Assurance from a recognized institution.

• Certifications in Quality Management Systems (QMS), HACCP, Safety Compliance, or Risk Management is desirable.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, safety compliance, or related role within a logistics/warehousing, food, or industrial environment.

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and other relevant industry certifications.

• Familiarity with local and international regulations related to quality and safety (e.g., health and safety laws, environmental regulations, industry-specific standards).

• Safety Management Systems: Knowledge of safety protocols, including occupational health and safety standards as well as safe working practices.

• Proficiency in maintaining and updating documents such as SOPs, quality manuals, audit records, and compliance reports.
